# Use the Dashboard

The Dashboard is the first page after sign-in. It gathers recent activity that
is visible to you across your buildings.

## What appears here

- Recently published announcements.
- New or updated documents.
- Upcoming meetings.
- Request activity.
- Building shortcuts and items that may need attention.

The Dashboard does not create a second copy of those records. Selecting an item
opens it in its main VBC page.

## Focus on one building

Use the building filters near the top of the page. This is useful when your
account includes more than one association or more than one role.

## An empty Dashboard

An empty activity area does not necessarily mean something is wrong. It means
there is no recent visible activity in the current building selection.
